4th grade enjoyed Young Readers Day at BHES. We had great guest readers. They were able to be active participants, see American Sign Language in action, and hear books read in different accents!
Our staff was treated to a visit by national speaker and fellow Illinois teacher, Monica Genta! She encouraged us, laughed with us, and reminded us that we (and our students) are AWESOME!
Congratulations to Becky Akins for her award at the 2019 VASE Evening of Excellence. BHES is so fortunate to have Mrs. Akins as a part of our team!
BHES Staff and Students: Please wear BLUE tomorrow (Thursday) for Diabetes Awareness! Thank you!!
Mrs. Miethe’s Class celebrated World Kindness Day this morning. The students talked about random acts of kindness they could complete throughout their school day. They drew the name of a classmate and created a kindness card to give to them. The students loved this activity!
Third graders are "Proud to be an American"!
Mrs. Miethe’s class is thankful for all of the sacrifice our Veterans have made for our freedom. We spent the morning learning about the meaning behind Veteran’s Day and making cards to deliver to the VA! Thank you Veterans!
Mrs. Powell's math classes enjoyed using bats and spiders to learn about division!
First grade had a great time learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin and making pumpkin charm necklaces with the Ag Lady today.
Mrs. Gernand from the Farm Bureau came for Ag in the Classroom and taught us about the pumpkin life cycle! Students listened to a book then made a charm necklace that included items representing parts of the life cycle they heard about in the book! 🎃💙
