Bismarck-Henning Rossville-Alvin Cooperative High School Summer Announcements Friday, August 13th, 2021

Announcements:

  • If you have emailed or left messages for Mrs. Stephens, please be patient - she is sorting through a lot of emails and phone calls and will get back with you as soon as she can.  You can find a copy of the master schedule here: https://5il.co/x50r.  Please check this schedule before you contact her.  It could answer your question.

  • If you have not registered for school, please get that done asap!!!  Call or email Jenny if you need assistance!  You MUST be registered for school and have all fees paid before you can see your schedule!  We’re here from 8am-noon Mon-Wed next week.  Thurs & Fri morning the office will be closed for building meetings.

    • Class dues are $25 per year and stay with your student's class throughout their entire high school career (used to pay for Homecoming week supplies, prom, class trip, etc -- anything to do with their class).  These fees are paid by each student and are not automatically waived with a fee waiver.   This allows your student and their class to participate without having to do fundraising for these events they do as a class.  These are included in the fees that should be paid before schedules will open up.

  • If you have not picked up your Chromebook yet, you can pick those up Mon-Wed of next week from 8am-noon.

  • The Athletic Boosters are looking for concession workers!  If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to Tony Foster at tfoster@bismarck.k12.il.us.

  • The Parking Lottery is not quite finished yet.  As soon as it is, Jenny will send it out to the students.

  • Student Council Annual T-Shirt sale is happening NOW!  You can order online at https://bhrastudentcouncil2021.itemorder.com.  OR you can download a paper copy and turn it into the office at https://5il.co/wkf8.  Orders are due August 25th.

  • Picture Day for BHRA is Monday, August 30th, 2021.  Order your pictures online at https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry.  BHRA’s Order Code is 59137WF.  We will have paper forms available outside the office once school starts.

  • Youth Cheer Camp is THIS Saturday, August 14th from 9am-12pm in the MPR.  You must pre-register to be guaranteed a t-shirt, although walk-ins are welcome.  Campers going into K-8th grade are welcome to attend and will perform with the BHRA Cheerleaders at the pre-season game on Friday, August 20th.  Registration form can be found here: https://5il.co/vs9j

  • Blue Devil fans - Mark your calendars!  You'll want to be at BHRA on Saturday, September 11th as we host the Watseka Warriors and raise money for Operation Honor Guard.  We hope to see you at Payton Moss Field on September 11!  Kickoff is at 1pm.  More exciting details to come!

  • The Dates to Remember for 2021-22 has been released!  It IS subject to change.  You can find it here!  https://5il.co/te4f

  • Students may not attend school if they are experiencing any of the potential COVID-19 symptoms:  Fever of 100.4 or higher, NEW ONSET of a moderate or severe headache, shortness of breath, NEW cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, NEW loss of taste or smell, fatigue from unknown cause, and muscle or body aches from unknown cause.

  • Schedules are now available to view in TeacherEase. Changes are still being made, so be sure to check your schedule again right before school begins.

  • Classes and lunch hours have been carefully balanced, therefore, no schedule changes will be allowed. If there is an error on your schedule (such as the ones listed below) please contact Mrs. Stephens to have it corrected.

    • your schedule is missing a class that is required for graduation

    • you have a blank period on your schedule

    • you have not taken the prerequisite for a class on your schedule

    • you have already taken a class that is on your schedule

  • Other scheduling information: Seniors who requested Economics may see Personal Finance on their schedule in its place. Personal Finance will count towards your senior social studies credit this year.

  • Students will need to follow the schedule listed on the first day of school. Any schedule changes will require the student to fill out a schedule change request form. These forms are available outside my office. All requests for a schedule change require a parent signature and a detailed reason for the change. These changes are subject to class availability and approval by Mr. Rademacher. Students have the first five days of school to make these changes.

  • Please understand that schedules have been created to evenly balance class sizes. Requests to move to a different lunch hour and/or the same class a different period will be denied for that reason.
