  • Student council members bring your money to donate towards a raffle basket to Mrs. Russell this week.  We need to have our basket ready by Friday. All proceeds will go directly to the Danville Cancer Center.

  • The Lion's Club is looking for volunteers to help with the Pancake Day on February 4th at the elementary school.  You can sign up with Mrs. Russell or Mr. Beukelman.  There are a variety of times available to work.  Let's Support our community, Blue Devils.

  • Is the price right?  We are looking for students willing to shave their heads for a good cause! Help us raise money for the Pink Night by doing a good deed.  See Mrs. Russell for more details!  Girls - You are not left out.  Do you have long hair that you would be willing to donate!  You can participate, too.

  • The cheerleaders would like to say a HUGE thank you to our Blue Zoo crowd that came out and supported us Saturday at the cheer competition.  You guys rocked it! We couldn't have done it without you. 

  • This Friday night is our next home game.  Welcome to the Blue Zoo Jungle!!! Come in your animal prints to have your name entered to win a gift card.

  • This weekend your Blue Devil wrestling team competed in two different places:  LeRoy and Olympia.  At LeRoy:  Landen Toellner placed 4th, Nathanael Gnaden placed 5th and Evan Parish placed 6th.  At Olympia:  Kenny Merrill placed 2nd, Donavan Gudauskas placed 3rd, Eli Godwin and Grahm Abbed placed 6th.  Wins were also earned by Ayden Golden, Hunter Wilson and Tayler Carpenter.

  • When testing to return to school, only PCR tests are accepted.  Rapid (antigen tests) are not valid.

  • List of Covid Testing sites in Vermilion County listed at vchd.org.

  • **Updated Quarantine Guidelines as of 1/7/22** - The Illinois State Board of Education has adopted the new CDC guideline for positive COVID-19 cases. The number of days a positive case must remain in isolation has been reduced from 10 days to 5 days.

  • For free home COVID tests go to   www.covidtests.gov  The tests are expected to ship at the end of January.  1 set of 4-tests per address.

Community Service Opportunities

  • Reminder!  If your student will not be attending school for the day, please make sure you call the office and let us know.  Please call us by 9am each day your student is absent.  (Students may not call themselves in, it must be a parent/guardian).  You need to call us each day they are out.

  • Students may not attend school if they are experiencing any of the potential COVID-19 symptoms:  Fever of 100.4 or higher, NEW ONSET of a moderate or severe headache, shortness of breath, NEW cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, NEW loss of taste or smell, fatigue from unknown cause, and muscle or body aches from unknown cause.  If the student or someone in their household is waiting on COVID-19 test results, please do NOT send them to school until results come back negative.

  • Chromebook cases, styluses, and chargers for sale in the office.  Styluses are $30 and chargers are $25.  Cases are $20 new and $10 used.

  • Athletic Passes on sale now.  Individual $60 and Family $124 (includes all members of 1 household).  Send cash or check to Jenny with a list of all members in the household if purchasing a family pass.
