Announcements

  • Please disregard any schedule that may have shown up for the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Stephens was attempting a test run of scheduling to set up the master schedule and did not realize that these were open for student/parent viewing. Finalized schedules for the 2022-2023 school year will be available to view in August.  An email will be sent out letting students & parents know they are ready to view and finalized.

    • Just a reminder, once schedules are finalized in August, schedules will only be changed if there is an error, not to align schedules between friends or to move class times just because.

  • The boys finished third and the girls finished fifth overall in a 13 team invitational at Southfork last night. Top performers at the meet include: Ella McFarland second place in both the high jump and triple jump and Audrey Taylor third place in the shotput with Amber Christine read third place in the long jump. For the boys; Emerson Thorlton finished first in the 3200 run and second in the 1600, Murphy McCool took first in the 400 and in the 100, the 1600 m relay and mid distance relay teams took second and the 400 relay and 800 relay teams took third. Great efforts and PR's by many in very cold conditions!  There will be no girls track practice tonight after school.

  • POST PROM INFORMATION!  Post Prom is being planned by a group of Junior Parents as it is not a school sponsored event.  Post prom is open to all Juniors & Seniors (whether you go to prom or not), their dates, and prom pages.  It will be held at Elevate in Champaign.  See Post Prom flier here!  Keep reading!

    • Students need to arrive at the Wilcox entrance by 11:45pm after the prom.  The bus(es) will leave at midnight.  Students will not be allowed to leave Post Prom.  The Bus(es) will return to BHRA at approximately 6am. - Students are required to ride the bus, they may not drive themselves to Post Prom.

    • The first 15 students that sign-up will have their name entered in the big prize drawings TWICE!  Sign-up in the office!

  • PSAT/SAT Information for Wednesday, April 13th - Attendance is important!

    • Seniors will not attend school on Wednesday, April 13th.

    • Junior may leave after testing with a signed permission slip turned into the office.  Permission slips can be printed here or found on the table outside the office.  Please get these turned in to the office asap. 

    • Freshmen/Sophomores will take their testing in the morning, have lunch, and then return to class.  Dismissal time on 4/13 is 2:05.

  • The annual Cubs trip is back! Blue Devil Pride card holders may sign up to attend here.  We have limited spots and priority will be given to upperclassmen and blue card holders, but don't let that prevent you from signing up.  We will leave school around noon on May 3rd and arrive back late at 1 am.

  • The BHRA Library is having their annual BOOK SALE!! Come take advantage of retired books at the great price of 25cents or less! There are great titles and authors to choose from. The Sale will begin Thursday April 7th and run through Friday, April 15th.

  • Congratulations Catherine Luttrell you are the April student of the month!  You earned this for being selfless and hard working.  Other nominees this month were Maci Long, Keely Applegate, Audrey Taylor, and Jacob Mockbee.

  • Junior Parents Needed! Junior parents are needed to help plan and execute post prom.  If you can help, please contact Deanne Clapp at deanne0708@aol.com.

  • Reminder - April 27th is a normal dismissal day.  We will not be dismissing at 11:40 as previously scheduled. 

  • Extra graduation announcements available in the office while supplies last.  $1.50/each or 25/$35.

  • Student Council Food Drive - all this week!  Bring any non-perishable food item to your first-hour class.  The class that collects the most items will receive donuts & milk!  Some ideas of needed items: granola bars, fruit snacks, and milk.  See the flier here!

  • #BHRAStudents4Ukraine are raffling off a blanket. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Winner will be drawn on April 18th!

  • Prom is just around the corner!  It is being held at the Crooked Creek Whitetails Estate in Fairmont, IL, on Saturday, 30 April 2022, from 8pm-11pm.  Starting next week (Monday, 4 April 2022), tickets will be available from Mrs. Gray and Mr. Beukelman.  Tickets are $20 each, and BHRACHS Seniors get in free!  If you are bringing someone from outside of the school, please get your Date Request Forms on the table outside the office or  (Date Request Form Link).  Date Request Forms must be returned back to the office no later than Wednesday, 27 April 2022. 

  • Music Boosters meeting, Wednesday, April 13th at 6pm in the cafeteria.  If you have a student in our music department, please make plans to attend.

  • If you are interested in being a Leadership Intern for Bismarck’s Camp Invention June 27th-July 1st this summer, please see or email Mrs. Carpenter ASAP for more information.  This is a super fun, high energy, hands-on STEM camp for 1st-6th graders.  Leadership Interns are the right-hand-man for the instructors (Mrs. Heinrichs and Mrs. Powell) and receive 40 hours of documented community service hours for working with the younger students.  Interviews for the positions will start at the end of April.

  • When testing to return to school, only PCR tests are accepted.  Rapid (antigen tests) are not valid.

  • List of Covid Testing sites in Vermilion County listed at vchd.org.

  • **Updated Quarantine Guidelines as of 1/7/22** - The Illinois State Board of Education has adopted the new CDC guideline for positive COVID-19 cases. The number of days a positive case must remain in isolation has been reduced from 10 days to 5 days.

  • For free home COVID tests go to   www.covidtests.gov  The tests are expected to ship at the end of January.  1 set of 4-tests per address.

  • Reminder!  If your student will not be attending school for the day, please make sure you call the office and let us know.  Please call us by 9am each day your student is absent.  (Students may not call themselves in, it must be a parent/guardian).  You need to call us each day they are out.

  • Students may not attend school if they are experiencing any of the potential COVID-19 symptoms:  Fever of 100.4 or higher, NEW ONSET of a moderate or severe headache, shortness of breath, NEW cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, NEW loss of taste or smell, fatigue from unknown cause, and muscle or body aches from unknown cause.  If the student or someone in their household is waiting on COVID-19 test results, please do NOT send them to school until results come back negative.

  • Chromebook cases, styluses, and chargers for sale in the office.  Styluses are $30 and chargers are $25.  Cases are $20 new and $10 used.

  • Athletic Passes on sale now.  Individual $60 and Family $124 (includes all members of 1 household).  Send cash or check to Jenny with a list of all members in the household if purchasing a family pass.
